How to support CCALFA initiative
Thank you for supporting this initiative to alleviate mental health long term by redefining the landscape of raising and educating our children/ young learners. Here are the different ways you can help:
Volunteer. We welcome volunteers, there are many jobs from setting up to packing up; to assisting us with working alongside children and making sure they’re seen, heard, and on track with the support they need. If you have a specialised skill you are confident in sharing - let us know, and we can make sure we work to your strengths.
end us an email here. No blue card? We will organise your blue card for you, no problem.
Carpentry and Wood Working Teacher. We are looking for an experienced/ retired carpenter/ wood worker/ wood-turner, to teach young learners progressively on this skill base. Adults/ Modern day elders both welcome. Send us an email here.
Art Materials/ Gardening Materials/ Clay Materials. We are always on the look out for the following consumable materials:
Drawing/Painting Materials: water colour paper (190 to 300GSM - all sizes); acrylic paints and inks; canvases (small to medium); art brushes; stencils; coloured pastel paper;
Gardening: Potting Mix, chicken wire fencing, stakes, cchild-size shovels, trowels, coir, fertiliser, mulch;
Clay/ Pottery: BRT clay, School Earthenware Stoneware Clay, Stoneware 10; pottery molds, pottery tools, pottery wheels;
Carpentry: carpentry tools; carpentry horse;
Sewing: fabrics (non stretch) - used to sew bags or fabric organisers/ basic quilting projects.
Monetary Donation: If you have none of these materials lying around, and still wish to help this initiative, you can always give a monetary donation here.
We are currently raising funds to (1) insulate Studio 2; (2) purchase more pottery wheels and equipment; (3) build a big shed on site (we are quickly running out of space as we grow - we need space to be able to offer more activities on site.
We will be starting to offer specialised workshops and courses for adults/ teens on Thursdays-Saturdays this year. Our future plan includes a shed that will house a few more rooms/ studios to accommodate all the creative activities and presentations this hub will be running and producing; which includes offering indoor regular yoga classes as part of community practise.
